It’s the end of 2025, so I thought I’d give a short yearly review of the blog and what to expect in the future.
In 2025, as of 12/24, the site has had 55.7k page views. That’s about the same number as 2024, so not as much growth as previous years. I can’t say I’m surprised, though. Is this due to fewer new posts made for the year? AI results taking views instead of people visiting blogs directly? Probably a little bit of both.
Going into 2026, my job role is changing a bit, and I’ll be doing less SQL Server and database work. I suspected a change like this would come eventually, which is why I decided on a broad name like CallihanData for this site instead of a more SQL Server-specific name. I’m planning to continue posting every few weeks or so, but I’m not sure yet what the content will look like. I’ll still be keeping up with database-related news and content but may dabble in other tech-related topics for blog posts.
Perhaps it will only be AI consuming blog posts by the end of 2026 and “real” views will trickle down to zero. Who knows?
I guess we’ll find out together.
As always, thanks for reading, and I’ll see you in 2026!
