T-SQL Tuesday #169 – Thank You

As hard as it may be to believe, it’s time for the last T-SQL Tuesday of the year. We wrap up the year with an invitation from Kay Sauter inviting us to show some gratitude and say thanks to those who have helped us along the way. Before I get to the rest of my post, I feel it is appropriate to thank Kay first for the post invite, so thanks, Kay!

Vet Trips

The last 3 months or so have been a bit chaotic. Starting in September, our dog, Moss, began having serious medical issues. Soon after that, one of our cats began having medical issues. Once we thought we were stable, another of our cats started having medical issues. We’ve been on more vet trips than I can count. But with Christmas only a few weeks away, we’re all still here, so thank you to the Ohio State University Veterinary Medical Center and everyone at Bliss Vet in Newcomerstown for helping to make that happen.

My Better Half

Most importantly, I want to say thank you to my amazing wife for keeping me sane (well, as sane as possible) by administering meds and handling a lot of the vet trips. I can handle giving meds to the cats, but Moss is a bit more…combative. She can pry open his mouth and put pills down his throat. He doesn’t make it that easy on me.

The vet trips are not fun, and they’ve usually involved a lot of time in crammed, loud waiting rooms. You can crumple your plans up and throw them out the window. For example, when we took Moss for a day of tests at Ohio State, we were told that they closed at 5 p.m., so we’d be well on our way home by then. By no fault of their own, we left there well after 6:30 p.m.

Everyone seems to be getting healthy, so perhaps we’re finally done with vet trips for awhile. We’re taking it one day at a time and being thankful for the time we have.

Thanks for reading!
